What is a kWh?
A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is the standard unit of electrical energy. It equals running a 1,000-watt appliance for exactly one hour. Your electricity bill is measured in kWh — so understanding which appliances consume the most kWh is the first step to reducing your electricity costs or correctly sizing a solar panel system.
